It feels strange admitting that I failed to mention a point in yesterday’s sermon (which was roughly an hour long)…but I did. It had to do with the fact that a group of people laughed at Jesus when He suggested that Jairus’ daughter was sleeping rather than dead.
The first time somebody laughed at God’s assessment of a situation, He proceeded to create an entire nation from a 100 year old man and a 90 year old lady (Even though that lady tried to deny that she laughed, there’s no fooling God). When folks laughed at Jesus in yesterday’s sermon text, Jesus chose to foreshadow the gospel through the resurrection (resuscitation?) of a 12 year old girl.
Let’s just say there was a slight bit of world-changing going on there in the little girl’s bedroom (and especially in the gospel which was pictured there!).
While I’m at it, I failed to mention another point too. Jesus believes that children’s ministry should be directly related to the child’s parents.
No pun intended.
